Mrs. Rhodes' Course Offerings:

 

2D Design

 

Introduction to the fundamentals of the formal systems and basic elements of visual organization through two-dimensional design principles and theories using a variety of media.

3D - Design/Set Building

 

Introduction to the fundamentals of scenery construction with instruction and practice in stagecraft and lighting coordinated with the Musical Theater Class. ​The vocabulary, art principles, and elements related will be studied to build a foundation for further exploration and learning.

 

 

Ceramics

Introduction to the exploration of basic hand building and wheel techniques of working with clay. Included will be basic design considerations for traditional pottery forms as well as simple sculptural forms. There will be exposure to techniques for glazing and basic firing. The vocabulary, art principles, and elements related will be studied to build a foundation for further exploration and learning.


Crafts

Introduction to the exploration of basic crafts techniques. Cultures and artists, both modern and past, will be studied to gain an understanding and appreciation for the variety of crafts techniques and mediums. The vocabulary, art principles, and elements related will be studied to build a foundation for further exploration and learning.

Visual Arts II-IV

A continuation of Visual Arts I and the exploration of intermediate to advanced level art techniques to allow students to develop their artistic skills.
